Razorpay maintains industry-standard security practices for payment processing and is compliant with PCI DSS standards. Additionally, when you click Buy Now on the Website, Razorpay's checkout application verifies your details to enable a seamless and secure checkout experience. This verification is carried out on Razorpay's secure platform and is not stored on our servers.

8. Data Retention and Erasure

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law. Our retention periods are as follows:

(a) Account data: Retained for as long as your account remains active on the Website. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us.

(b) Transaction data: Retained for a minimum period of 7 (seven) years from the date of the transaction, as required under applicable Indian tax and financial record-keeping laws, even if your account is deleted.

(c) Communication records: Retained for a period of 3 (three) years from the date of the last communication, or longer if required for dispute resolution or legal proceedings.

(d) Automatically collected data: Retained for a period of 1 (one) year for analytics and security purposes, after which it is anonymised or deleted.

(e) Security logs: Retained for a minimum of 1 (one) year for investigation, remediation, and continuity purposes, in accordance with the DPDP Rules.

Upon deletion of your account or upon expiry of the applicable retention period, we will erase your personal data from our active systems. Where erasure is scheduled under the DPDP Act, we will notify you at least 48 hours before the scheduled erasure, giving you an opportunity to log in to your account or otherwise contact us if you wish to retain your data. Some residual data may remain in encrypted backup systems for a limited period but will not be actively processed.

9. Data Security

9.1 Security Measures

We take the security of your personal data seriously and implement reasonable security safeguards in accordance with the DPDP Act and DPDP Rules. Our security measures include:

(a) Encryption of personal data in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest

(b) Access controls to restrict access to personal data to authorised personnel only

(c) Regular review of access logs to detect unauthorised access

(d) Data backups to ensure continuity of processing in the event of data loss

(e) Contractual provisions with all service providers and data processors requiring them to implement equivalent security safeguards

While we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data, but we are committed to taking all reasonable measures to protect it.

9.2 Fraud Prevention Disclaimer

AKSHNAM will never contact you by phone, email, SMS, or any other means to ask for your OTP, CVV, PIN, card number, bank account details, or passwords. We will never call you with unsolicited offers, free gifts, or requests to install any application. If you receive any such communication claiming to be from AKSHNAM, please do not share any personal or payment information and report the incident to us immediately at privacy.akshnam@gmail.com.

We shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or expense incurred by you where you have shared personal or payment-sensitive information with any unauthorised person or fraudulent entity claiming to represent us.

10. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach that affects your data, we will:

(a) Notify the Data Protection Board of India without undue delay, along with a description of the breach

(b) Submit a detailed report to the Data Protection Board within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach

(c) Notify you (the affected Data Principal) without undue delay, informing you of the nature of the breach, the data affected, and the steps we are taking to address it

(d) Take immediate remedial action to contain and mitigate the impact of the breach

We maintain incident response procedures and retain breach-related records, logs, and traffic data for a minimum of 1 (one) year to support investigation, remediation, and prevention of recurrence.

11. Your Rights as a Data Principal

Under the DPDP Act, you (as a Data Principal) have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

(a) Right to access: You have the right to obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you, including the processing activities being carried out on your data.

(b) Right to correction and completion: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal data and completion of incomplete personal data.

(c) Right to erasure: You have the right to request deletion of your personal data, subject to our legal obligations regarding data retention.

(d) Right to withdraw consent: You have the right to withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data at any time, as described in Section 4 of this Policy.

(e) Right to grievance redressal: You have the right to register a complaint with our Grievance Officer if you believe we have failed to fulfil our obligations under this Policy or under the DPDP Act.
