Ivory and dusk rose. The garden is dense, but nothing here shouts.
The entire field is covered in a continuous embroidered vine, hand worked in soft antique pink, sage green, dusk mauve, rust, and slate blue across an ivory wool ground. Clusters of small blossoms and leaf sprigs crowd every inch of the trellis, and within the tangle, a menagerie appears in quiet repeat, hares caught mid leap, small perched birds, their bodies picked out in flat satin stitch with a scatter of fine sequin work on select figures for a soft, occasional glint. The overall effect is closer to an old manuscript page than a repeat print, dense and unhurried, with the ivory ground only ever peeking through in slivers.
The border draws the composition to a close in stages. A narrow band along the hem repeats the hare and bird motif at smaller scale between rows of the same florals, followed by a slim scalloped edge in the same palette. Beyond that, a wide plain ivory panel is left undecorated, a deliberate pause that lets the embroidered field read as a picture rather than an endless pattern. Fine fringe finishes both ends.
