This is a full-coverage Jamawar, the kind where the base cloth is almost incidental. The black ground serves as a foil for a dense, all-over composition in warm amber, antique gold, burnt sienna, deep burgundy, and olive, colours that shift in natural light and read differently depending on how the shawl falls. The body carries large-scale floral bouquets, scrolling acanthus forms, and sweeping paisley in a richly layered arrangement. The motifs overlap and interlock across the field with the confidence of a design that has been refined over many iterations. There is no open ground to speak of; every part of the surface is working.
The border is where the shawl shifts register. A wide band of densely woven floral and arch forms transitions into layered geometric bands, with a repeating diamond and chevron border at the outermost edge that gives the shawl a structured, architectural finish. The border palette deepens toward burgundy and black, pulling the composition inward and framing it firmly.
The reverse is plain black, clean and composed. Fine fringe at both ends.

Returns & Exchanges
