Courtyard Kani Stole
Courtyard Kani Stole
Deep Navy and ivory. A courtyard scene, woven rather than printed.
The stole is worked entirely in a repeating architectural panel, arched mughal style gateways and latticed pavilions rendered in ivory and warm gold against a deep espresso brown ground. Beneath each structure, a robed figure stands framed within its own arch, holding a floral offering, while flowering branches in ivory and mustard rise between the panels, filling the space above the architecture with a lighter, more organic texture. The scene repeats along the length of the stole with enough variation in figure and branch placement that it reads as a continuous narrative rather than a mechanical repeat, all of it built into the weave itself rather than surface worked.
A narrow trellis guard band runs along both long edges, and the stole closes at both ends with a repeating panel of slender ivory lily forms rising from a scalloped arch line, echoing the architectural theme of the field at a smaller scale. Fine fringe finishes the edges.
