Silver Grey Pure Wool Kashmiri Shawl with Geometric Spiral Hand Embroidery

Silver and spiral. A Kashmiri shawl that takes an unexpected turn.

The pale silver-grey wool base is covered in an all-over geometric pattern of interlocking circular scrolls, each curl connecting to the next in a continuous flowing lattice across the entire field. At every intersection, a small four-petalled floral rosette in burgundy and amber gold marks the junction, giving the geometric structure warmth and humanity. The palette is restrained throughout: taupe, ivory, burgundy, and gold on silver-grey.

It is an unusual composition for Kashmiri hand embroidery, which more commonly follows floral and botanical traditions. The spiral lattice belongs to an older geometric vocabulary, and its presence here, rendered in the same fine needle technique as the most elaborate floral pieces, gives this shawl a character that is both deeply traditional and entirely contemporary.

The border carries a delicate hanging leaf and floral spray in the same tonal palette. The reverse is plain silver-grey throughout.
